Behind The Counter

Here is a photo of Joe standing behind the counter at Joe Jackson’s Liquor Store on Pendleton Street. He and Katie ran multiple businesses during their lives, no matter where they lived. Each of them were successful, even through the Great Depression.

Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Park

406 West Avenue, Greenville, SC

The 8 acre park property was donated to the Greenville Recreation District in 1993 by Richard Heusel. It is located behind Brandon Mill, and its main feature is a ball field where Shoeless Joe played in the Textile League.

When the Vintage Base Ball games vs. the Ty Cobb Museum are held in Greenville, this is the field where we play.

You can see Brandon Mill off in the distance in foul territory down the first base line.
