Joseph R. Jackson has served on the Museum’s Advisory Board for many years. He is the great-great nephew of Shoeless Joe Jackson. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Joe graduated from Wade Hampton High School and attended Furman University. He is member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Joe and his wife, Linda, are the loving parents of three wonderful children.
In 1997, Joe started as the head Golf Professional at Holly Tree Country Club in Simpsonville, South Carolina, which features a picturesque 18-hole golf course that is laid out over the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He has been Holly Tree’s General Manager and Director of Golf since 2006. He is a Life Member of the PGA of America.
Joe is a very devoted man who carries a special admiration for our nation’s Veterans. He holds a yearly golf tournament which raises special funding for Folds of Honor, which has carried forth the noble mission of providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members since 2007. Joe firmly supports their motto: “Honor Their Service. Educate Their Legacy.”
